Travel Lodge Swansea

The Travel Lodge, Swansea is located very close to not only Swansea Museum but also the National Waterfront Museum.  Therefore, it is also located very close to the main part of the town itself.  Just like many of the seaports around Britain, this one has a varied and colourful history and is still a major working one today. 

From Swansea if one wishes to a person is able to take a ferry that will take them across the Irish Sea to Southern Ireland.  The ferry journey, which goes from Swansea to the port of Cork in Ireland, takes around 12 hours to complete.  Nevertheless, once in Cork allows you the chance to explore this part of Europe also. 

However, if you are going to be in Swansea for only a short period of time then there is plenty for one to do and see in this city as well.  Along with the museums mentioned above, the city also has a castle, which you may want to explore.  It is situated in the very heart of the city and the one you see today was built in the Thirteenth Century after the original was razed to the ground by the Welsh citizens because it was built by a British lord. 

Although you can now only see the ruins of what was once a very formidable castle, it is a pleasant spot to spend a sunny summer's afternoon.  To make it even more pleasant why not take a picnic with you and from up here you can watch the world slowly pass you by.
