Travel Lodge Slough

There is only one Travel Lodge, Slough and this is located close to the town centre and so is the ideal base for exploring it.  Although very much a town which is commercialized there is still plenty for one to do and see, plus if you want why not get the train and go up to London for the day.

In Slough itself there are the Rochford Gardens, the Slough Museum and The Bird Tree, which one can spend time at.  The museum was first established back in 1986 and moved to its current location at the east end of the High Street in 1997.  Here you can learn more about the town's varied and exciting history and has a section that will keep all the kid's amused as well.

As you walk towards the museum you will see in the very heart of the High Street area which has been pedestrianised a beautiful sculpture.  This was designed and built by Guisseppe Lord in 1999 and commissioned by Slough Local Authority.  The sculpture which is a huge tree containing many colourful birds has been made using steel and glass and adds some colour to what would be a drab area.

However, if you would like to get away from all the hustle and bustle of the centre of Slough then head over to Rockford Gardens.  Located away from this the gardens are well cared for and enjoyed by many of the residents of the town.  Certainly during the summer months when the weather is good these gardens are extremely popular with all who are in Slough.
