Travel Lodge Peterborough

The Travel Lodge, Peterborough is situated very close to the town's centre and is only a short distance from the UK Passport Office and Peterborough Market.  However, if you would like to be away from the hustle and bustle then consider staying at the Travel Lodge at Eye Green which is in fact a short distance from Peterborough instead.

These kinds of hotels are ideal for families to stay in over a weekend as they provide comfortable family style rooms, all with en-suite facilities, TV etc.  Most of these rooms are quite able to sleep for easily and provide the ideal base for visiting the area where they are staying local attractions.

In Peterborough, one place, which is visited regularly by all those coming to the town, is Peterborough Cathedral, which has undergone many various forms.  The first church to be built on the site was in 655 but was then destroyed by invading Danes in 870.  It was then reconstructed in 972 before being burnt down by mistake in 1116.  The cathedral you now see on the site today was begun in 1118 and it took more than 120 years before the building was completed.  Although it did suffer badly when Oliver Cromwell was in power it still retains many of the unique features which people admire today.

The other place to visit of interest when in Peterborough is Flag Fen Bronze Age Centre.  Here you will be able to see a superb reconstruction of what a village settlement in the Bronze Age would have been like.  As well as showing, what life was like at that time for those living in the village, but just how these people also passed the time as well.
