Travel Lodge Northampton

Although it is situated on the outskirts of the town, the Travel Lodge Northampton will act as a great base for exploring the surrounding area.  Certainly when it comes to visiting Northampton there are plenty of attractions to keep one amused, plus you may find you need to come back several more times in order to see what is on offer.

One place that has certainly become a major attraction in the last 10 years is Althorp the ancestral home of the Spencer's.  Most notably the home where Lady Diana Spencer who became Diana, Princess of Wales was born and raised.  Today many people from across the world now visit the estate not only to view the house and gardens, and see where Diana once walked and played but also to view the exhibition celebrating her life.

Along with Althorp being a major tourist attraction, another popular one is Piddington Roman Villa Museum.  It provides you with a chance to learn more about the areas history where you can learn more about the early civilisations that settled here.  In fact, this villa is believed to be one of the most important to be discovered in Britain and was made of a large community of Roman dwellers during the time that they lived here.

However, if you would like something a little more exciting to see then a visit to the Holdenby House Gardens and Falconry Centre may be what you need.  Located close to Northampton town it is just located across from Althorp so a visit to both can be done in one day.  Along with wandering around its beautiful garden, you have the chance to see the various birds of prey that are housed in the falconry centre being flown by the expert falconers as well.
