Travel Lodge Newport

The Travel Lodge, Newport is in fact located on the outskirts of this town at the M4 motorway service area located at Junction 23A.  But it is the ideal location for not just exploring Newport but Wales' capital city Cardiff also.

One particular attraction that draws visitors to it each year is the Foel Drygarn Iran Age Hill fort, which is located close to Newport at Preseli Mountains.  On the top of the mound it has, two rings made from stone along with two wide banks that would discourage any would be intruder from trying to enter.  It is here you will learn more about the Celtic population who resided on the site since 300 BC.  Plus the same bluestone rock that was used to build this is the same that was transported and then used to build Stonehenge in Wiltshire.

However, if you have children with you on your visit to Newport then to allow them to let off steam take them to Tredegar Park.  Along with wide-open spaces and playing fields on which they can participate in a variety of different sports (these have to be booked).  During the summer months, there is a paddling pool, tennis courts and a pitch and putt course that visitors to the park can avail of.  Plus along with all these sporting activities there are plenty of other events organized by the local authority that takes place here in the park as well.  So actually finding things to do with your time will not be that difficult when visiting Newport.
