Travel Lodge Newbury
There are two Travel Lodge, Newbury locations to choose from one
is situated in Chieveley whilst the other is at Tot Hill, which is
on the Newbury by Pass. It is important to note that if you
are looking for quiet accommodation these are not ideal as they are
both located within motorway service areas.
However, if you will only want to stay for a couple of nights
and are looking for affordable accommodation then these may be an
ideal choice. Although not located in Newbury itself they are
both within easy travelling distance of the town.
The town of Newbury itself has plenty to offer those who choose
to visit it and this includes St Nicholas Church, West Berkshire
Museum, the Kennet and Avon Canal and not forgetting its
racecourse. In fact, right throughout the year Newbury
Racecourse holds plenty of events where the horses race over flat
and jump courses. Moreover, during the summer months in June
and July there are several evening race meetings that take place as
well.
However, if you want to spend time just relaxing then take a
walk along the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath. Originally
opened back in 1841 since 1990, British Waterways Authority has
spent time restoring it to its original glory. There are
various points around Newbury town where one can gain access to the
Canal's towpath. Plus why not spend time sitting have a cool
drink on a summer's day at the Lock Stock and Barrel Pub and watch
a few of the narrow boats pass you by.
