Travel Lodge Guildford
The Travel Lodge, Guildford is located on the outskirts of the
town and is ideal for those who are traveling abroad from Heathrow
Airport. The airport at Heathrow is in fact only 26 miles
from where the hotel is situated. Certainly, if you happen to
have an early morning flight and which to save on the cost of hotel
accommodation then staying here is a sensible option.
But even once settled into your room there are plenty of
attractions close by which one can visit and enjoy. One such
place is Clandon Park that is located in West Clandon, which is
only a short drive from Guildford. This palatial Palladian
Mansion was built by Giacomo Leoni a Venetian architect back in
1730. As you enter the building, you will be amazed at its
magnificent two-storey marble entrance hall.
Plus once inside there is a large collection of furniture,
porcelain, carpets and textiles that were produced during the 18th
Century and which were acquired by the owner of the house in the
1920's. Also, if you want to spend time relaxing and
unwinding a wander around it beautiful gardens will help.
Along with Clandon Park another attraction which many visitors
which to see is the Castle in Guildford. This is located just
a few minutes walk from the town's high street and is surrounded by
some really beautiful and elegant gardens. Although the only
parts of the castle that now remain standing are the Norman Keep
and the Castle Arch it is still worth a visit.
