Travel Lodge Chichester
The Travel Lodge, Chichester can be found in the town of
Emsworth and is around 8 miles away from the town itself.
Also close by to this hotel is Goodwood Racecourse and a little
further on you will find Hayling Island, Portsmouth and
Southampton.
However, in Chichester itself there are plenty of places to dine
out in the evenings and attractions for one to visit. The
most important one of these being Chichester Cathedral. This
building has been a place of Christian worship for more than 900
years and is certainly a stunning building to view. Inside
you will find that it combines the old with the modern. There
are 12th Century Lazarus reliefs and works produced by Fiebusch,
Piper and Sutherland from the 20th Century.
If however you want to get away from the crowds for a while then
go to Dell Quay. Although the port itself is still very busy,
there are harbour side footpaths along which one can stroll, enjoy
the views, and look at the boats that are moored there. Also,
why not take a trip to the Harbour Education Centre as they offer a
variety of different marine related trips throughout the
year. In addition, they also provide courses in photography
and art if one is interested.
The other place that many visitors to Chichester will go to is
the Fishbourne Roman Palace. Not located far from Chichester
in here you will find the largest collection of mosaic floors still
in-situ in Britain and which were discovered back in 1960.
Along with seeing the mosaics one can learn about the history of
the site through the computer and audiovisual program that is
available to watch.
