Travel Lodge Ilford
The Travel Lodge, Ilford is situated close to the centre of the
town and offers you the ideal location to act as base for seeing
what the town and the surrounding area has to show. In addition,
this town is not situated far from London and can easily be reached
by catching a train to Charing Cross Station.
However, there are plenty of attractions that are close to this
hotel that one can visit during a stay in the town. Most of
the attractions are located a short distance from the centre of the
town but there are good transport links that will enable you to get
to them easily.
One such place is Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge that is
located in the heart of Epping Forest and is about 6 miles from
Ilford. This Grade 2 Listed building dates from 1543
and was commissioned by King Henry VIII and named after his
daughter. It was here that the king and his subjects would
spend time shooting deer that roamed freely through the
forests.
However, today the place is much more tranquil and quiet and
visitors to it can spend time exploring the kitchen and the
shooting gallery where the king would have stood. Plus the
views from this building are some of the most fantastic one is
likely to see in this part of England and there are plenty of
activities for keeping the kids amused. They could have a go
at doing some brass rubbings or they could dress up in clothes that
are similar to those worn by the people of the time.
